As a continuation of the live, work, play concept that is The Academy in the heart of Poughkeepsie, Baxter renovated an existing building at 35 Academy Street to create 28 affordable apartments. The existing three-story structure remained, and two additional stories were added, requiring additional structural support starting with helical piles at the foundation and steel extending up through the existing roof. The apartments consist of studios, one and two bedrooms with lofts and exterior decks overlooking the Hudson River. The first-floor commercial space was also completed by the Baxter team.
